Can you read a real birth chart?

Most astrology quizzes ask you to remember a list. This one casts an actual chart, draws it on the screen, and asks you what it says — the lagna, where a house lord sits, whether a planet is exalted, which dasha is running, what happens in the Navamsa. A new chart every question, so nothing here can be memorised. Every answer explains itself.

How this is worked out

Every question comes from a chart cast on the spot

The chart above each question is real: a random date, time and Indian city, computed with the Swiss Ephemeris on the Lahiri ayanamsa, the same engine behind every reading on this site. The question is then derived from that chart and checked against the same computation. Nothing is drawn from a fixed question bank, which means the quiz cannot be memorised and cannot run out.

Three levels, and what each one tests

Beginner asks the things you read straight off a chart: the lagna, which house a planet occupies, who rules a given house, the Moon sign. Intermediate moves to judgement — the birth nakshatra, whether a planet holds a dignity, which Mahadasha is running, whether Mangal Dosha is present. Advanced goes where most free quizzes never do: the Navamsa placement of a planet, the Atmakaraka by degree, Vargottama, the KP sub lord of the ascendant, and whether the chart is currently in Sade Sati.

Why the explanation matters more than the score

A quiz that only says "wrong" teaches nothing. Every answer here names the placement it came from — which sign, which degree, which rule — so a wrong guess tells you what you were not looking at. That is the whole point of practising on real charts rather than on flashcards: the mistakes are the useful part.

Eight out of ten means something specific

It is the pass mark ShukrAI uses for its own astrologer entry test, which is also a timed test on a real birth chart. If you score eight or better here, you can read a chart to the standard we screen for, and the page will say so and point you at the application. If you do not, that is ordinary — these are harder than trivia by design.

Frequently asked

Is this quiz free?

Yes, completely, with no sign-up. It runs in your browser and nothing is stored.

Are the questions always the same?

No. A new chart is cast for every question — a random date, time and city — and the question is derived from that chart. There is no fixed bank to memorise.

What is a good score?

Eight out of ten on the intermediate or advanced level is strong; it is the same bar ShukrAI's astrologer entry test uses. Five or six means you are genuinely reading charts, which is further along than most people expect.

I am a beginner. Where should I start?

Start on the beginner level, and keep your own kundli open in another tab. Almost everything at that level is read straight off the chart, and it is much easier once one chart is familiar.

Does doing well here get me a job?

It is not an application by itself, but it is the same kind of test. ShukrAI screens astrologers with a timed quiz on a real birth chart plus a founder review, so a strong score here is a fair signal that the application is worth your time.

ShukrAI computes from your real birth chart with the Swiss Ephemeris and Lahiri ayanamsa. It is for reflection and self-understanding, is never a prediction of doom, and is not a substitute for professional advice.
